The 23rd Annual Scientific Meeting and 26th Annual General Meeting of the International Association for Dental, Oral, and Craniofacial Research Malaysian Section (IADR Malaysian Section) was successfully held on 6 September 2025 at The Everly Hotel, Putrajaya.

Held under the theme “Transforming Dentistry Through Digitalization and Research-Driven Innovation,” the conference brought together academics, clinicians, researchers, and students to explore the integration of digital technologies and research advancements in modern dentistry.

The scientific programme featured a distinguished line-up of speakers. The keynote address, “The Digital Dental Revolution: From CAD/CAM to AI-Driven Patient-Centred Care,” was delivered by Prof. Dato’ Ir. Dr. Mohammed Rafiq Dato’ Abdul Kadir, who highlighted the transformative role of artificial intelligence and digital workflows in enhancing patient-centred care. This was followed by a plenary lecture by Dr. Johari Yap Abdullah, titled “Digital Dentistry and 3D Printing: Delivering Better Outcomes to Patients,” which emphasised the clinical impact of additive manufacturing technologies.

The symposium sessions further enriched the programme. Assoc. Prof. Dr. Siti Mariam Abdul Ghani presented on “Exploring the Biomechanics of Dental Materials Through Finite Element Analysis,” while Assoc. Prof. Dr. Umer Daood delivered an engaging talk, “Time to Shift the Paradigm Towards New Antimicrobials: The Theory of Everything.” The programme concluded with a forward-looking presentation by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Norlela Yacob on “The Future of Dentures: Merging 3D Printing and Fundamental Innovation.”

In addition to the keynote and invited lectures, the conference featured oral and poster presentations, providing a platform for researchers and students to showcase their work and compete in scientific competitions. These sessions reflected a wide range of research areas and encouraged active scholarly exchange.

The meeting also offered valuable opportunities for networking, collaboration, and mentorship, fostering stronger connections within the dental research community. The Annual General Meeting further reinforced the organisation’s commitment to advancing dental research and supporting professional development.
